Wacka Flocka Arrested For Gun Possession In Atlanta Airport

Reports are coming in that rapper Waka Flocka Flame was arrested Friday after police said they found a handgun inside his carry-on bag at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

The weapon was located in a domestic checkpoint lane at the airport, Officer Ralph Woolfolk with Atlanta police said.

The rapper, whose real name is Juaquin James Malphurs, did not have a weapons permit, Woolfolk said. Waka, 28, of McDonough, was arrested and charged with carrying a weapon in a prohibited place, according to police.

He was transported to the Clayton County jail, where he was awaiting a bond hearing Friday afternoon, records showed.

The rapper and his wife, Tammy Rivera, are currently starring on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop Atlanta. No information was released on where Waka was headed. But he is scheduled to perform Saturday in Albany, N.Y., according to his website.
