Mary J. Blige Says She Never Signed Off On The Burger King Chicken Commercial

Mary J is stll feeling the heat from her pulled Burger king Chicken commercial.. fans were upset about the racial stereotype it set about black people.

According to TMZ, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul has come forward to reveal that she didn't sign off on the version of the commercial we all saw that drew loads of criticism. She says the portion with her singing about the fried chicken wrap was meant to be part of a dream sequence. Here's what she told TMZ:

“I agreed to be a part of a fun and creative campaign that was supposed to feature a dream sequence. Unfortunately, that's not what was happening in that clip."

Mary also says, "I understand my fans being upset by what they saw. But, if you’re a Mary fan, you have to know I would never allow an unfinished spot like the one you saw go out."
A finished and, more importantly, approved version of the ad is still scheduled to air.
