LIL KIM SHOUTS DOWN BET & PARK'S ROCSI FOR ASKING HER ABOUT NICKI MINAJ
Lil Kim appeared on BET's "106 & Park" on Friday (March 9), during the 15th anniversary of the death of the Notorious B.I.G., and while she discussed her latest music, she refused to talk about rival Nicki Minaj any further.
Over the last year, Kim has made it a point to verbally attack the YMCMB superstar, accusing her of copying her style and not paying homage. The former Biggie protege even went as far as to release an entire mixtape, titled Black Friday, dedicated to going at Nicki.
Well, it seems she's grown tired of talking about her ... at least for now.
After talking about her new single "If You Love Me," and helping judge the "Freestyle Friday" portion of the show, BET host Rocsi tried to ask Kim about her verbal spar with Nicki, but was immediately shut down.
"It's almost like an elephant in the room to not bring it up," Rocsi, followed by Kim's refusal to discuss it.
"No, why?" Kim responded. "We here, this is about Team Kim and everybody in here. Brooklyn in the building!"
Rocsi pressed on, though, saying: "With much respect due to you and your craft -- and I'm not trying to not say what the fans don't want to hear -- but it's been the elephant in the room. It's being spit out there, so the only reason I address it... But I respect your game if you say you don't want to talk about it, but I don't want to see you talking about it somewhere else."
In response, Kim said she's done speaking about the issue.
"At the end of the day, this is about Kim right now," she said. "We gave you that movie already, you know what I'm saying? We movin' on to a whole 'nother direction and if it come back that way, then we give ya'll another movie. But right now we moving into another direction. 'Bout to drop some new singles for Queen Bee and Brooklyn."
Kim later addressed the moment on Twitter (@LilKim), saying: "I want to take this time 2 say #TeamLilKim & all my fans that came out 2 106. I f***ing love u guys. Y'all really turnt it up & represented. Even when Rocsi tried to get disrespectful towards the end & ask an unappropriate irrelevant question."
