Jay-Z has served his personal chef Mike Shand a whopping $1.5 million lawsuit.
According to the NY Post, the suit was filed under the claim that Shand "failed to perform on significant aspects" of a deal to create and execute a menu for Jay-Z's famous Manhattan40/40 Club.
The court filing claims that "the club has not been able to adequately replace the items and services defendant was paid to provide."
Shand's lawyer, Vik Pawar, told the Post that his client was surprised by the lawsuit.
"Mike's a great chef, and it is unclear why 40/40 would contemplate a lawsuit against him," Pawar said. "Nevertheless, we will respond accordingly when he gets served with the complaint." Shand is in California.
The hip-hop star opened the New York location of 40/40 in 2003. A third location is slated to open at the end of September in the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
