Bronx Rapper & Coke Boyz leader French Montana is back in the lab preparing to flood the streets. Following the release of his Coke Boys 4 mixtape, the New York rapper is back in the lab working on his sophomore album Mac & Cheese 4. A release date has yet to be specified. Frenchy had a string of successful singles including his strip club anthem “Pop That” and “Ain’t Worried Bout Nothin,” French is returning to his roots on the follow-up to his 2012 debut Excuse My French. “I’m going back to the essence on this album,” he told Rolling Stone. “We’re giving the fans that grew up on me what they want. When we made the other music, it was just to be a little different and not do the same thing over.” The album will serve as the fourth installment in his Mac & Cheese mixtape series, which he started in 2009. However, instead of making it available for free download, it will receive a commercial release, with the first single due in the next couple months. You can expect more big-name collaborations including Macklemore, who appears on a song called “Nightmare.” Aside from his own music, French is contributing to Rick Ross’ Mastermind and Kanye West’s next album. “We’re supposed to be working on a couple of songs together for his album,” he said. “He got a special project coming out.” Earlier this month, French dropped Coke Boys 4, which features appearances from Diddy, Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, and Jeremih.
