Beyonc'e Pens Open Letter After Alton Sterling & Philando Casti...
The celebrity response to the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile to come in, as Macklemore, Joey Badass, and now Beyonce have commented on the situations. Beyonce took to her website to release a statement commenting on how fed up many are with the deaths of black and brown people, saying “We are sick and tired of the killings of young men and women in our communities. It is up to us to take a stand and demand that they ‘stop killing us.'”
Both Alton Sterling and Philando Castile were gunned down, with both of their deaths being caught on cell phone footage. The death of Alton Sterling has launched a civil rights investigation that will be conducted by the Department of Justice.
Beyonce also spoke on the power of organization in her letter, saying "We all have the power to channel our anger and frustration into action. We must use our voices to contact the politicians and legislators in our districts and demand social and judicial changes."
