The albums aren't in stores just yet, but trusted sources are already weighing in on this month's massive line up of releases. Among projections made public Thursday are Alicia Keys' "Girl On Fire" and Rihanna's "Unapologetic" albums.
For months both talented women have been pushing these albums with singles like "Girl On Fire" (with its many versions) and "Diamonds." Both singles are getting play, with "Diamonds" being a chart-topper, but who will come out on top ?
According to early figures, Alicia Keys is the projected winner in the race with sales of around 300,000 copies (week 11/27). This figure takes into account sales of the title track for the album, "Girl on Fire."
In comparison, Rihanna's "Unapologetic," (11/19) pushed by the ever so clever "777 Tour," which kicked off Wednesday (seven countries, seven concerts
, in seven days), is slated to come in with 275,000 copies first week.
It is no secret that Rihanna is an artist that sells more singles than albums (#fact). To that end, "Diamonds" remains strong on the digital songs chart and is way ahead of the album's projected first-week sales.
At this point, it is unclear what projections are for another album that should be one to look out for -- Keyshia Cole's "Woman To Woman."
Led by the single "Enough of No Love" and the rich "Trust and Believe," Cole's "Woman To Woman" is one to watch.
Factual numbers will of course come the week after release and this is nothing but a little bit of friendly competition. Support ! Support ! Support !
