KIM KARDASHIAN FACING LAWSUIT THAT MAY HIT HER IN THE POCKETS

Kim Kardashian and her sister Khloe face a possible class-action lawsuit over their diet product QuickTrim, which detractors say contains high levels of caffeine, an ingredient that’s “not safe or effective for weight loss.”

Kim and Khloe caused a stir over their paid endorsement of the product, which features a picture of bikini-clad Kim. It has reportedly generated $45 million in revenue since they struck the deal with New Jersey-based Windmill Health Products in 2009.
Law firm Bursor & Fisher is preparing a suit against Windmill and the marketing claims made by the Kardashians. An e-mail it sent to product users included a link to the firm’s Web site, which states, “The active ingredient in QuickTrim weight loss products is a large dose of caffeine . . . The FDA has determined that caffeine is not safe or effective for weight loss.”

Partner Scott A. Bursor told us, “My firm has been retained by an individual that purchased QuickTrim, and we are investigating the matter. We have provided written notice of our client’s claims to the company and others involved in marketing QuickTrim,” and his firm is reaching out to other QuickTrim users. Bursor & Fisher has won or settled cases against firms peddling products including hair loss remedy Avacor and diet supplement Xenadrine.

In January 2010, Kim said she used QuickTrim to shed 15 pounds in weeks. Last year she tweeted that she was using it to get in shape for her wedding, and Khloe also claimed she lost 15 pounds. Adriane Fugh-Berman, a physician at Georgetown University Medical Center, warned in 2010 that QuickTrim contains large amounts of caffeine. She said, “They’re not saying how much caffeine is in these pills. Too much caffeine can make you jittery and increase your blood pressure and pulse. If you pop a couple of these pills with your Starbucks . . . you could get caffeine poisoning, which can cause heart arrhythmias.” Reps for the Kardashians and Windmill have yet to respond.

THE STARS TURN OUT FOR MUHAMMAD ALI'S 70TH BIRTHDAY

Samuel L. Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Sean “Diddy” Combs and Slash were among the famous faces who turned out for a star-studded gala in Las Vegas on Saturday night to mark Muhammad Ali’s 70th birthday.

The event, held at Sin City’s MGM Grand, raised money for charity in honor of the legendary boxer’s milestone birthday last month, and guests included Terrence Howard, David Beckham, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Lenny Kravitz.

A number of artists took to the stage to perform for Ali, including Snoop Dogg, John Legend, Cee Lo Green, Kravitz, Slash and Rowland, as well as Wonder, who flew in from New Jersey after performing at Whitney Houston’s funeral earlier in the day.

The music legend saluted Ali by performing a number of his hits, including his track Happy Birthday.

There were also tributes from U.S. President Barack Obama, who said in a video message, “Happy birthday, champ,” and Hollywood actor Jackson, who told the audience, “He’s done it with guts and grace, with his fists, and with his wits. He’s one of the groundbreaking figures of the generation that helped make the world a more open place when it comes to who we can love, where we can go and what we can do. Thank you, champ.”

The event also included a memorabilia auction, and a pair of Ali’s boxing gloves, which were used to defeat Floyd Patterson in a fight in Las Vegas in 1965, sold for $1.1 million.

Proceeds from the gala will be donated to the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, Kentucky and the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.

DMX BURIED IN $1M CHILD SUPPORT PAYMENTS

DMX's baby mama drama has came to light, as the rapper reportedly owes $1 million in back payments for child support. The news came to light after he was prevented from leaving the country, by a law prohibiting a parent owing a substantial amount of child support from obtaining a passport.

Last week Patricia Trejo, who has a child with Dark Man X, claimed that he owed over 10 years of child support payments in L.A. Superior Court. However, DMX isn't quite sure the child is his, and has requested a DNA test to prove if he is the father.

If the test is positive, the child will have at least 10 half-siblings.

CHRIS TUCKER NOW OWES OVER 12 MILLION IN TAXES

Comedian Chris Tucker doesn’t have a lot to laugh about these days considering Uncle Sam and the Peach state are after him big time.

Georgia is now getting in on the act for a 2007 tax lien and has reportedly added yet another $592.594.82 to the actor’s already whopping IRS debt of $11,571,909.26 reports TMZ.

Tucker owes the feds taxes for 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2006 and even got rid of two Florida homes to help lessen the debt. Last October, Tucker unloaded one of his Florida homes for $1,050,000 even though the asking price on it was $1.5 million. Before the bank planned to foreclose on his 8,861 square foot Lake County, Florida home back in November of last year, Tucker had a short sale on it and sold the mansion for a reported $2 million even though he still owed $4.4 million on it.

Back in 2001, the funnyman reportedly took in a $20 million payday for “Rush Hour 2″ and scored $25 million for “Rush Hour 3″ which hit theaters in 2007. Now there is talk that Tucker might resurrect his role in Ice Cube’s “Friday” movie franchise which could also help chip away at his compounding tax debt.

Tucker’s tax situation is similar to what actor Nicholas Cage went through about two years ago when the IRS came gunning after him. Cage owed roughly $14 million in back taxes for apparently living way beyond his means. He actually had a head spinning-treasure trove — over two dozen homes, a castle, two Bahamian islands, Gulfstream jet, dinosaur skulls, shrunken heads, at least 50 expensive cars, two yachts, 18 motorcycles. The lavish spending seemed endless and the actor had to sell off properties, businesses, cars and yachts in order to pay down his mountainous debt with the feds.

After much speculation about Rihanna's upcoming "Birthday Cake (Remix)," Hot97's Miss info has confirmed that the shocking guest feature will come from none other than Chris Brown.

This comes as a shocker to both Rihanna fans and the rest of the breathing world. Nobody could have guessed these two would actually collaborate on another song together. Prior, to their publicized domestic violence incident, Chris worked with his ex-girlfriend of the "Cinderella (Umbrella Remix)."
According to Miss Info, Breezy has recorded two verses for the remix. Chris reportedly raps on one and sings on the other. Earlier this week, producers Da Internz alerted MTV News about the forthcoming track.

"We got the Rihanna 'Birthday Cake' coming out in a week," Kosine said. "It's gonna be crazy," his production partner, Tuo, said shaking his head. "And the feature on there is gonna shock the world," Kosine chimed.

Recently, Chris and Rihanna have been spotted at various clubs and parties together. The official "Birthday Cake (Remix)" is expected to be released next week.

Um it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out these two are mending some serious fences, and may be planing to hook back up stay tuned...

BOBBY BROWN FEELS HE WAS DISRESPECTED AT WHITNEY’S FUNERAL

Orignal the Houston family elected not to invite Bobby Brown To Whitney's funeral, but had a last minute change or heart probably due to bad press. Bobby did attend but things did not go smoothly...

Funeral services for Whitney Houston were held at New Hope Baptist church in Newark, New Jersey. Amid the solemn service, however, there were conflicting reports about her ex-husband Bobby Brown leaving during the ceremony.
According to TMZ sources, Brown had a dispute with the family because he wanted to speak during the service.Other reports stated that there was a dispute over seating.

A publicist for Brown released the following statement:
My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions. I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER CREDITS NBA GUARD JEREMY LIN'S SUCCESS TO HIS RACE

In a tweet this week, the undefeated boxing great stirred things up.

"Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he's Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don't get the same praise," Mayweather wrote (@FloydMayweather).

Lin's camp has not commented as of press time.

After receiving some flack over his words, Mayweather followed up late Monday, via a series of tweets, claiming that he's only saying what other NBA players are also thinking.

"Its OK for ESPN to give their opinion but I say something and everyone questions Floyd Mayweather," the boxer tweeted. "I'm speaking my mind on behalf of other NBA players. They are programmed to be politically correct and will be penalized if they speak up.

"Other countries get to support/cheer their athletes and everything is fine. As soon as I support Black American athletes, I get criticized."

Since early February, Lin has been the talk of the town for his unprecedented play over the last five games, which has led the Knicks to a five-game win streak.

His performance has made him the first player in league history to have at least 20 points and seven assists in each of his four career starts. Scoring 109 points in his first four career starts, Lin's scoring tear is the most by any player since the NBA and ABA merged in 1976, besting Allen Iverson who held the previous mark of 101.

In his last five game, the 23-year-old is averaging 26.8 points and 8 assists.

If that isn't worthy of national attention, then what is?

This isn't the first time Mayweather has received backlash for racially insensitive remarks. Back in September 2012, he went on a profanity-filled racist and homophobic rant against Manny Pacquiao in a Ustream broadcast, telling the Filipino boxing star to "make some sushi rolls and cook some rice," and later added: "we're going to cook him with some cats and dogs."

Chaka Khan is disturbed by Clive Davis' decision to proceed with his annual Pre-Grammy party the night of Whitney Houston's death. According to Khan, the whole idea of having a party in the same hotel, just hours after a death, is insane.

"I thought that was complete insanity," Chaka Khan told Piers Morgan on Piers Morgan Tonight. "I don't know what could motivate a person, to have a party, in a building, where the person, whose life he had influenced so enormously, and whose life had been affected by her...I don't understand how that party went on."

As reported early Sunday, Khan also pulled out of a planned tribute to Houston. Claiming it was simply too soon, Khan made the announcement that she would not join Jennifer Hudson via Twitter.

"As I grieve the loss of my friend and “little sister,” I don’t feel it appropriate to perform at this time," Khan wrote. "Continue to pray for the family."

SINGER WHITNEY HOUSTON DIES AT 48

Legendary pop singer Whitney Houston died at a Beverly Hills, California, hotel at age 48, officials said Saturday night.
The entertainer, whose incredible talent was discovered at an early age, was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. (6:55 p.m. ET) at the Beverly Hilton despite resuscitation efforts, a police spokesman said.

Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mark Rosen said there were "no obvious signs of criminal intent" and that the cause of her death is being investigated.

Houston's bodyguard found her body, said Courtney Barnes, publicist for hip-hop artist Ray J, who was dating the pop diva.
Houston died on the eve of the 54th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.

According to her official website, Houston sold more than 170 million albums, singles and videos over her career. But she also struggled with addiction problems over the years.
Houston was set to appear in this year's "Sparkle," a remake of the 1976 hit, which was loosely based on the story of The Supremes. It was her first movie role since 1996's "The Preacher's Wife."

News of her death elicited a flood of reaction on social media, from fans and fellow celebrities alike.

Whitney Houston seemed 'in good spirits'
Music producer Russell Simmons wrote he was "deeply saddened by the death of Whitney Houston," while singer Gloria Estefan said she was "shocked we've lost the immensely talented" entertainer.

Another music legend, Quincy Jones, said he was "absolutely heartbroken" by the news. "She was a true original and a talent beyond compare," he said.

Houston's body of work includes seven straight Billboard No. 1 hits in the 1980s, including "Saving All My Love for You," "How Will I Know," "Greatest Love of All" and "Where Do Broken Hearts Go."

Billboard put her soundtrack to the movie "The Bodyguard" as one of the top 10 biggest-selling albums of all time. She also starred in the film. The soundtrack included the hit,"I Will Always Love You."

The daughter of singer Cissy Houston, Whitney was born on August 9, 1963, in Newark, New Jersey. Famed music producer Clive Davis reportedly spotted Houston 20 years later in a New York nightclub, signing her on the spot, according to her website. Davis steered Houston's career for more than 25 years, also serving as a mentor.

The singer's rendition of the national anthem at the 1991 Super Bowl, days into the first Persian Gulf War, earned raves and cemented her place in the American musical landscape.

50 flew to Dolow in Somalia’s southern border region, where thousands of women and children have taken refuge at Kabasa camp for displaced people fleeing from drought and conflict. He saw women and children being screened for malnutrition, and visited a nearby school.

"What I am seeing is devastating -- these women and children have risked everything to come to this Somalia camp, just to get food,” he said. “They need our help.”

Jackson today visited a school in a Nairobi slum where he met children, many of them orphans.

“To meet those kids was so inspiring, they have nothing, yet they are so positive and optimistic. I want to do my part so they get food and an education. I hope more people will join me to help end this devastating situation," he said.

Free Way Rick Ross has been fighting a protracted court battle alleging trademark infringement by the rapper(Rick Ross) whose given name is William Leonard Roberts II, a onetime corrections officer. While giving a deposition last week in Miami, Ross said he came face to face with Roberts. The rapper sneered and "gave dirty looks," said Ross, though earlier, when Ross was in prison, they had phone conversations during which the overweight, bearded emcee showered him with respect.

Their brief interaction last week was anything but respectful, Ross said. "[He] treated me as if I had done something to him," Ross said. "When he first came to me, he didn't know what position I was going to take, if I was going to send a word out to those young cats out in L.A. or not. That put a little fear in his heart. But now that he knows I'm not carrying it like that, he's a little more courageous right now."

CHRIS BROWN ORDERED TO STAY ON SUPERVISED PROBATION

Chris Brown has been staying out of trouble, and has fulfilled most of the legal obligations in relation to the Incident with his ex girl friend Rihanna. Despite that Superior court judge George Lomeli has ordered the singer to stay on supervised probation.

Chris' probation officer wrote a report which states that CB has been truthful with officers, passed all required drug tests and "has made great strides" while under probation supervision.
He was sentenced to five years probation for his fight with Rihanna, which took place three years ago yesterday. Chris is continuing to make a strong comeback, as the "Turn The Music Up" singer is scheduled to perform at this year's Grammy Awards.

The 22-year-old "Look At Me Now" singer will not let up his anti-interview policy and has plans to moonwalk his way on the red carpet, interview free.

The stars were out as hip-hop heavyweight Jay-Z broke yet another barrier at Carnegie Hall as one of the few hip-hop artists to play a concert on the stage. The show, a collaboration between The United Way and the Shawn Carter Foundation was an effort to raise funds for college education.

With big names like Yankee C.C. Sabathia and Liza Minelli in attendance, Jay-z put on a show like never before, with simultaneous sophistication and impeccable swag. Donning tuxedos and backed by an orchestra, Jay was also accompanied by The Roots band and a bottle of Ace of Spades (filled with tea).
Spewing out solo hit after hit, from his classic studio albums The Blueprint 3 to classics from his earlier efforts, Jay-Z proceeded to give donors and fans alike an unforgettable show.

Highlights of the night included appearances Alicia Keys and Nas, who performed "Empire State of Mind," "New York State of Mind," and "If I Ruled the World," commemorating New York's Superbowl victory. Jay-Z also performed his ode to his daughter Blue Ivy Carter, "Glory," for the first time in front of a live audience.

"I didn't think I was going go get through that," he admitted in front of the packed orchestra house. Hov's most surprising feat of the night would come when he entered the crowd of fans in the balcony of Carnegie Hall, to perform some of his earliest hits from "Reasonable Doubt," rocking his signature "all black everythinga," a striking change from his exquisitely tailored suits earlier in the night. DRAKE RESPONDS TO BEING SUED BY EX GIRL FRIEND OVER MARVIN'S ROOM

Reports have been swirling that Drake's ex girl friend Ericka Lee is suing the Young Money artist for unpaid monies for her feature on his hit song Marvin's Room. According to Lee she was never compensated as she appeared as the voice on the other side of the phone for one of Drake's biggest hits to date. Lee filed the lawsuit thursday in California federal court. she claims the two were romantic and business partners at the time, and were to have continued a working relationship before the break up.

Drake's representatives have responded with this statement

"This claim is entirely without merit and our client has not engaged in any wrongful conduct. Ericka Lee consented to the use of her voice in the song "Marvin's Room" prior to its release. Lee asked only for the credit she received as "Syren Lyric Muse," and she did not ask for any compensation," a spokesperson for the rapper told Pop & Hiss on Friday. "It was only after she retained a lawyer that there was a demand for payment. Drake tried for months to resolve the matter amicably, and he now looks forward to being vindicated in court." Veteran Bronx MC Peter Gunz confirmed to MTV News early Sunday (January 29) that his son, rapper Cory Gunz, was arrested for gun possession in the Bronx, New York, on Saturday afternoon.

"The details are still sketchy, but I can confirm that he was arrested with a firearm yesterday in the Bronx," Gunz told MTV News. "They caught him around 2 p.m. in the afternoon with a loaded gun in his knapsack.

"It was definitely an illegal search," Peter added.

Gunz was unable to disclose full details on the incident just yet, but he explained the events leading up to his son's arrest. "I spoke to the arresting officer, and so far, what I'm hearing from him is that they got a phone call at the station saying they should 'look out,' " Gunz said. "According to [the officer], they didn't know he was Cory Gunz. They just saw a bunch of kids following him around.

"What I will say is that the officer that arrested Cory actually happened to be a cool dude," Gunz continued. "After arresting Cory, sitting down with him and talking, he felt bad about the situation."

The 24-year-old rapper was brought to the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx on Saturday, but officials there say he has since been transported to Central Booking, on E. 161st Street in the Bronx.

While this is Cory Gunz's first brush with the law, his father is still worried about the potential fallout from a firearm charge.

"At the end of the day, there's a reason for everything, but at the same time, in New York, it's mandatory jail time," he said. "To go to a precinct and see your son, your junior, in handcuffs, it's heartbreaking. Anytime you see your child in jail, in the cell, in handcuffs, it's very hard. He's walked down some of the same paths that I walked down, but you never want to see your kids go through what you went through.

"This is Cory's first offense, but sometimes they like to make an example out of rappers and people with any kind of celebrity to them."

In April 2011, Cory Gunz and his father starred in the six-part MTV docu-series "Son of a Gun," which charted the young rapper's rise to fame. The younger Gunz is signed to Lil Wayne's Young Money label.

YMCMB founder Birdman flexed his pockets earlier this week, when he said he had already or would be putting up $5 million on the New England Patriots for Super Bowl XLVI.

That's still unclear. A day earlier 50 Cent bragged about a $500,000 bet he won when the New York Giants beat out the San Francisco 49ers to earn a ticket to the big game.

50 Cent is calling out Birdman on his offer, saying he wants to place a $1 million bet against the Southern hip-hop mogul's Patriots team.

"I'm up 500,000 off the last one. f*** it ill bet it back Ill put a 1,000,000 on my G MEN. STUNNER you got the # hit me if you want it," 50 tweeted (@50Cent).

50 Cent would bet on his New Giants to win, while Birdman, of course, would be betting on the New England Patriots. So far, Birdman has yet to respond on Twitter. And, it's unclear if the hip-hop moguls have spoken to make the bet official.

SEAN 'DIDDY' COMBS TO LAUNCH MUSIC-THEMED CABLE NETWORK?

Sean “Diddy” Combs has had his hands in music, film, reality TV, fragrances, clothing, restaurants, liquor and headphones. Now, the multi-hyphenate rapper-entrepreneur is looking to further expand his brand (and his wallet) by launching a music-themed cable network, according to a report in Broadcasting & Cable.

Combs is hoping to roll out the music-themed network, Revolt, on December 12, 2012.

For the venture, Combs is reported to have aligned with former MTV programming chief Andy Schuon to develop the network that will be aimed at African American audiences. It is being reported that Comcast will distribute Revolt.
In April, the cable provider announced that it would solicit proposals for "independent channels" as a commitment to the Federal Communications Commission to help launch minority-owned networks. It plans to launch 10 over the next eight years, with four being majority African American-owned, two being majority Hispanic-owned and two being operated by American Latino programmers.

But what would a Diddy-backed network look like?

No stranger to TV, he's previously launched a handful of branded series for MTV, including three successful incarnations of “Making the Band,” a spinoff, “Making His Band,” and “P. Diddy's Starmaker.” (The latter two lasted only a single season each.) He also looked for an assistant in an “Apprentice”-style reality competition for VH1 called “I Want to Work for Diddy."

He’s also guest-starred on shows such as “Entourage,” “CSI: Miami” and “Hawaii Five-0"; led the cast of a television adaptation of “A Raisin in the Sun”; and played a memorable role in the Russell Brand comedy "Get Him to the Greek."

A Combs representative said the rapper had no comment on the deal.

MAYWEATHER CALLS OUT PACQUAIO

While Pacquaio has been the one saying he was ready to fight the undefeated boxing great in the past few years, this week is different. Mayweather is now calling out the Filipino superstar to make the bout happen.

In two tweets on Tuesday afternoon (January 10), Floyd made it clear that he wants to fight Pac-Man on his previously announced fight date of May 5th at the MGM in Las Vegas.

"Manny Pacquiao I'm calling you out let's fight May 5th and give the world what they want to see," he wrote (@FloydMayweather). "My Jail Sentence was pushed back because the date was locked in. Step up Punk."

So far, there's no word out of Manny's camp.

However, boxing analysts believe that Manny's promoter Bob Arum has no interest in making the long awaited fight happen at all. Instead, he pushing for Pacquiao to face Juan Manual Marquez for the fourth time, following their November meeting which was decided in a controversial decision. Other possible fights include a rematch against Miguel Cotto, or a fight with junior welterweight titleholders Lamont Peterson or Timothy Bradley Jr.

"We're fighting in June, one of the four guys," Arum told ESPN.com last week. "My mission is to go over to the Philippines and talk about these four guys. If Manny feels he wants to go in May, he will tell me. I want to make sure Manny's cuts are healed. We won't fall under this kind of pressure. June is much more likely for Manny's fight, not May."

Mayweather was due to begin serving an 87-day sentence last Friday (January 7), after he pleaded guilty to reduced charges in his domestic violence case in late December. But, Mayweather's attorney has successfully gotten his sentence delayed until June 1st, citing that the boxer has a contractual obligation for a fight at the MGM Grand, which he estimated would pour more than $100 million into the ailing Las Vegas economy.

Now, Mayweather will be free to fight on May 5th. But, right now, he has no opponent, and he wants it to be Pac-Man ... which is likely to be the biggest match-up and highest earning in boxing history.

Other options include junior middleweight titlist Saul "Canelo" Alvarez -- who is one division above Mayweather, the welterweight titlist -- and lightweight Robert Guerrero, who is two divisions below.

According to TMZ, mothers who regularly gather at Lenox Hill for a breastfeeding class felt "neglected" by hospital staff during the celebrity lockdown. They're discussing the possibility of filing a lawsuit against the hospital.

These moms aren't the only parents saying they were affected by heightened security surrounding Blue Ivy's birth. Neil Coulon of Brooklyn told NY Daily news that "the stress of his wife delivering two premature girls was tripled by Beyonce's bodyguards treating Lenox Hill Hospital like an exclusive nightclub." He said that he was barred from the sixth-floor neonatal intensive care unit.

"This is the NICU. Nobody cares if you're a celebrity. Nobody is star-gazing. They just want to see their children," said Coulon, whose wife delivered twins on Wednesday.

Lenox Hill denies these claims. Spokesman Frank Danza told the AP that "no security would have prevented a parent from gaining access to the neonatal intensive unit and no family complained to the hospital about it." The hospital has issued a statement saying that they are "troubled by the misinformation being circulated in some news media reports."

A rep for AllGood Entertainment CEO Patrick Allocco tells TMZ ... Patrick and his son were snatched by hired goons working for a local "concert impresario" named Henrique “Riquhino” Miguel ... who anted up big bucks for the NYE show.

Allocco's people claim Nas and opening act Jemiah Jai were paid $315k to perform two shows ... but failed to board their flights in the U.S. in time to make it on stage in Angola.

According to Allocco's team ... Miguel was PISSED ... and didn't want Allocco to leave the country without resolving the whole money issue ... so he sent his people to take them into custody at gunpoint.

Allocco's people claim Patrick and his son were handed over to local authorities, where they were detained and interrogated for nearly seven hours.

The local U.S. Embassy finally stepped in and got them sprung.

A rep for the U.S. Embassy confirms ... Patrick and his son are now "in residence" at a local hotel while the two sides try to resolve the money situation.

YOUNG VITO TURNS HIMSELF IN FOR THE MURDER OF BRICK SQUAD RAPPER SLIM DUNKIN

Vincent Hardimon, known in the rap world as Young Vito, surrendered to police today (December 26) at 3 p.m., after a week long investigation into the murder of Slim Dunkin.

“We got a call from Mr. Hardimon’s attorney. They wanted to turn themselves in to me personally,” said Detective David Quinn of the Atlanta Police Department WSBTV-2 in Atlanta.

Police allege that Hardimon shot and killed rapper Slim Dunkin, on December 16 at a recording studio on Memorial Drive.
Police urged witnesses to give information about what happened inside the studio, but Quinn said they still need more information, even with Hardimon in custody.

“We did get some cooperation from witnesses but we’re still urging the public, whoever was at 1074 Memorial Drive on December 16, to give us a call,” Atlanta Police Detective David Quinn.

Hardimon was free on bond after an April arrest where he pulled a gun on two women during a standoff.

NEW AIR JORDANS CAUSE NATIONWIDE SHOPPING FRENZY, VIOLENCE AND PEPPER SPRAY

Fights, vandalism and arrests marked the release of Nike's new Air Jordan basketball shoes as a shopping rush on stores across the country led to unrest that nearly turned into rioting.

The outbursts of chaos stretched from Washington state to Georgia as shoppers – often waiting for hours in lines – converged on stores Friday in pursuit of the shoes, a retro model of one of the most popular Air Jordans ever made.

In suburban Seattle, police used pepper spray on about 20 customers who started fighting at the Westfield Southcenter mall. The crowd started gathering at four stores in the mall around midnight and had grown to more than 1,000 people by 4 a.m., when the stores opened, Tukwila Officer Mike Murphy said. He said it started as fighting and pushing among people in line and escalated over the next hour.

Murphy said no injuries were reported, although some people suffered cuts or scrapes from fights. Shoppers also broke two doors, and 18-year-old man was arrested for assault after authorities say he punched an officer.

"He did not get his shoes; he went to jail," Murphy said.

The mayhem was reminiscent of the violence that broke out 20 years ago in many cities as the shoes became popular targets for thieves. It also had a decidedly Black Friday feel as huge crowds of shoppers overwhelmed stores for a must-have item.

In some areas, lines began forming several hours before businesses opened for the $180 shoes that were selling in a limited release.

As the crowds kept growing through the night, they became more unruly and ended in vandalism, violence and arrests.

Lil Wayne released his latest online series on Christmas Eve, dubbed "Weezy's Sports Corner," in which discusses his other love ... sports.

Surrounded by Green Bay Packers memorabilia, the hip-hop star introduces his new online show, kicking things off with seven clips -- including break downs of how he feels about the NBA (getting Chris Paul on the phone), the NFL, college basketball and football, and skateboarding.

It will be posted every Saturday and viewers will be able to interact with Wayne by submitting questions.

"My love for sports started when I was about zero years old. That means I was born a sports child," says Weezy. "It was mostly the women in my family. My mom and my grandmother, they were just super sporty... They loved their teams, they loved football, they loved baseball, they loved basketball."

Weezy will also be a co-host on the upcoming ESPN show "The Sports Rap" with Rob Parker and Jalen Rose, which he describes as "no holds barred."

FLOYD MAYWEATHER SENTENCED TO 90 DAYS IN JAIL

Floyd Mayweather is the latest celebrity to land in jail. TMZ reports the championship winning boxer was sentenced to serve 90 days for assaulting the mother of his children in front of the kids.

Floyd was originally sentenced to 6 months in jail, but three of those months were suspended, and he was credited for 3 days time served.

The incident happened back in September 2010, after his ex-girlfriend said the boxer struck her and threatened to kill her.

Floyd hit a deal with prosecutors in the case, by pleading guilty to the misdemeanor domestic violence charge, and avoided a felony battery charge. He also plead no contest to the two misdemeanor harassment charges he faced after threatening his kids as well.

Floyd also has to serve 100 hours of community service, spend 12 months in a domestic violence program, and pay $2,500 in fines. He must turn himself in to authorities by January 6.

WAKA FLOCKA ASSOCIATE SLIM DUNKIN SHOT AND KILLED

Bricksquad Monopoly member Slim Dunkin was shot and killed yesterday in Atlanta, Georgia. The 24 year old rapper was shot in the chest after getting into an argument with an individual. Dunkin, whos real name is Mario Hamilton, was transported to Grady Memorial hospital where he was pronounced dead.

So far police have no suspects in Slim Dunkin's murder, which took place yesterday around 5:30 pm. Police Maj Keith Meadows spoke with the Associated Press about the crime.

“Right now we’re just trying to....identify who may have seen what, really just trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together,” Meadows said. “It seems everybody witnessed something very different. We’re just trying to go back and make sense of everything.”

The police official spoke more on the incident and what lead to the shooting. "It appears the victim was scheduled to do a photo shoot,” Meadows said of Friday’s events. “Before the video shoot took place, it appears the victim and suspect got involved in a verbal altercation. We don’t know what that altercation was about. The suspect produced a weapon, discharged that handgun one time, striking the victim in the chest,” Meadows said.

UPDATE: SLIM MAY HAVE BEEN MURDERED OVER A PIECE OF CANDY

According to WSB-TV in Atlanta, Mario Hamilton, known in the rap community as Slim Dunkin, was shot over a small piece of candy last Friday at a recording studio in Southeast Atlanta.
Yesterday, Detective David Quinn of the Atlanta Police Department walked reporters through the crime scene, as he explained exactly what he believes occurred on the night of the murder.

“Slim Dunkin was inside this particular room, when according to witnesses someone came in struck him and a fight ensued. The information we are getting and its unconfirmed, but this whole thing was over a piece of candy.” Quinn explained to WSB-TV. “The fight spilled out into this area where he was attacked and beat, and based on the evidence we have, whoever he was fighting with secured a weapon and shot him, whereby he fell on this table.”

Due to the fact that there were a significant number of people at the studio, police are hoping witnesses will come forward to give further information.

Unfortunately, according to Detective Quinn, Atlanta Police arrived at the crime scene an hour and a half later, as they were first called to Grady Memorial Hospital where Slim Dunkin was pronounced dead.

DJ PREMIER CONFIRMS JOINT PROJECT WITH NAS

In a recent interview with HardKnock.TV, Premier revealed that he and the Queensbridge hip-hop legend are still planning a joint project together, which they talked about in the past.

"He and I are still going to do the Nas/Premier album. He has other albums to come before it, but we spoke about it so it's still official," the producer said.

Premier has work with the Queenbridge rapper over his career, producing tracks on several of his early albums -- including It Was Written, I Am..., Nastradamus, and Stillmatic.

When their collaborative effort is expected is still unknown.

Also in the interview, Premier talks about the track he produced for the movie "The Sitter", which features Slick Rick; what it was like learning classical music for the Re:Generation project (RegenerationMusicProject.com), where DJs recreate and re-imagine traditional styles of music; and also memories for the late, great Guru.

50 Cent and Lil Wayne have had their problems in the past, with Fif taking shots at the rap star and his boss Birdman, but the G-Unit mogul realizes how much a force Weezy has become.

In a recent cover story for XXL, 50 acknowledged Wayne's success, but warned that sooner or later, he won't be the hottest rapper alive ... like Fif was once considered.

"He's turning into 50 Cent," the rapper told the mag. "He's going through that process of being successful, 'til people go, 'You know what? Get the f*** outta here. We don't want you here no more.' Because you're successful."

Later, he even admitted that he would've loved to have rival Fat Joe's smash single, "Lean Back," while discussing the current state of hip-hop.

"When I was in the mixtape circuit, there was a lot going on. I was able to take things that I wish I made myself and do 'em over," said 50. "Now it's not a lot of sh** out there I would do over. I'm like, 'Nah, that ain't even it right there.' You know what I'm saying? When Black Rob had 'Whoa!,' I wish that was my record. I wish 'Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See,' by Busta Rhymes, was my record. F***in' 'Lean Back,' I wish that was mine. You see what I'm saying? And you know me and Fat Joe don't get along. Also in the interview, 50 talks about working with Dr. Dre for his upcoming project. Although there's a perception that he and Dre haven't been on the best of terms lately, 50 says Dre has been very involved ... as was 50 on Detox.

"Dre helped me a lot on this record," he revealed. "I went to Los Angeles, was working out there for a little bit. I was working on the Detox records, right. I keep saying to Dre, I'm like, 'Yo, you don’t have to invent nothing. All they want is a strong version of what you gave last time.' They need a new version of that. It's like Sade. She goes away for six years, and then she comes back with a new disc. You go, 'I love this sh**!' It reminds you of the f***in' sh** that she gave you before she left. There's certain artists that have that luxury. You could go away and still be interesting enough to come for people to want to hear that effort. Dre is like that. NBA Adds Two More Games To CHRISTMAS DAY SCHEDULE OPENER HOPING SOOTHE FANS.

The NBA is set to add two more games to the planned season kick-off on Christmas Day, for a total of five games.

According to ESPN, Oklahoma City will host Orlando before Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers visit Golden State on Christmas night.

The games were added on Friday (December 2) to the three already scheduled for the 2011-12 season, which were originally unveiled -- including Boston at New York, Miami at Dallas, and Chicago at the Los Angeles Lakers.

NBA Commissioner David Stern previously said the league hoped to open the season with that tripleheader after announcing that a tentative agreement on a new labor deal had been made in the days following Thanksgiving.

A revised 66-game schedule is expected to be released Tuesday night (December 6) during an NBA TV special.

Here's where to watch the opening day games.

TNT will televise the opener, while ABC gets the NBA Finals rematch (Dallas vs. Miami) and the Bulls versus the Lakers (who will play their first game under former Cleveland coach Mike Brown).

The final two (OKC/Orlando and Clippers/Warriors) will air on ESPN.

Despite all the good news, the December 25th opening date is contingent on the CBA being ratified next week.

Lawyers for the league and players' association resumed negotiations Friday (December 2) on the remaining issues -- drug testing, the draft eligibility age, and the commissioner's power to discipline. They hope to complete the agreement Tuesday (December 6), so it could be presented at a meeting of player representatives Wednesday (December 7), then both sides would vote to ratify it Thursday (December 8).

If that happens, training camps and free agency would open December 9.

50 Cent has been on his grind lately, mostly promoting his new "Street King" energy shot and philanthropy movement. However, Fif is ready to feed fans new music.

The hip-hop mogul took to Twitter over the Thanksgiving Weekend to announce that he's planning the release of a new mixtape, titled The Big 10.

"Its been 10 years since I put out 50 Cent Is The Future. So I'm putting out The BIG 10 next week 10 smoking hot tracks,” 50 tweeted to over 5.2 million followers (@50Cent).

He continued, revealing that he'll be releasing visuals for all 10 songs.

"The BIG 10 I got something for a haters ass it called hits lol #SK," 50 wrote.

"The BIG 10 mix tape is gonna be crazy better then most albums this year. Trust me lol streetking support the movement," he later added.

Further details about The Big 10 were unknown.

Musically, 50 Cent has been releasing freestyles as part of his "Street King" series, his most recent being part two of his Get Rich or Die Tryin' album cut, "What Up Gangsta."

Former BADBOY Records Rapper LOON was arrested - and is facing LIFE in prison. According to the feds, between 2006-2008 he was dealing HEROIN in North Carolina.

The feds claim that he converted to Islam, became an Imam and moved to ALGERIA (where the US has NO extradition treaty) to avoid charges that the DEA was about to bring against him.

Unfortunately for Loon, he left Algeria, and was picked up by INTERNATIONAL POLICE in Belgium. He was extradited to the United States.

JA RULE RELEASES EYE WITNESS ACCOUNT ON CELLMATE'S ATTEMPTED SUICIDE

Ja rule is currently serving time for his 2007 gun charge, and life on the inside if proving to be interesting for Jah. He is only 5 months in but has already witnessed an attempted suicide, that he documented in his journal.

Jah plans on giving monthly updates on his incarceration. Read his accounts of the days event below. Which took place on July 11th.

Today I can truly say I've been through it all. A young kid comes in today they put him in the 18 cell right next to mine. He looked kinda depressed coming in, but nothing out of the ordinary. A few hours go past and all of a sudden I hear someone choking -- he's trying to kill his self. We all heard it, everyone runs to their cell doors and start kicking, banging, calling the CO's. Now I've seen a person get shot and I've even seen someone die from a drug overdose, but this was different -- this was suicide. It was like I can hear the life leaving his body.

The CO's rush in the cell -- they saved him. I didn't even think some sh** like this was possible in these cells. He tied his bed sheet to a pole that's attached to a sink which is about three feet off the ground made some sort of noose wrapped it around his neck then threw himself forward into a Boston crab/camel clutch type position. I never understood why a person would wanna kill themselves. Life is love & love is living. It's God's most precious gift.

After they brought him back to his cell in the suicide suit, he cried for hours. We tried to console him, telling him it's never that bad to wanna kill yourself. Turns out, he just turned 18 and got his girlfriend, who is only 16, and her parents pressed charges and now he's locked up on sex offender charges. He was in school for graphic arts to learn how to make video games. Wow, it's crazy how tw0 years can be so close, but yet so far when your 18 & 16. It seems far because he's now an adult and she's still a teen, but when your 10 & 12 it's cute and innocent and when your 18 & 20 nobody gives a f***.

It makes me think about Britt (Rule's daughter) and her starting to date. I'm not gonna lie, at 18 & 16, I'd be at a cross road to, but to ruin a young man's life & stain his future is not rite. At 18, your legally an adult, but your really still just a kid. I remember when I was 18, I thought I knew everything about life & living. As I look back now, as a 35 year old man, I realize I didn't know sh** LOL, and I'm still learning & growing as a man. Two years -- that's what separates me from my family rite now and I look at it as short time, but yet when Ish told me that Britt's acting partner was 17, I almost had a fit, even tho she'll be 16 soon. I'm sure he'll be 18 soon and BAM there it is -- crossroad LOL.

It's funny how God puts situations in front of you, so you can see it clearly. I trust Britt, I know me & Ish raised her well, besides she hates Kids LOL. But I also know the intentions of a young man -- I got my eyes on you lil homie. Don't make me come back to this motherf***er!

He explains that due to his "little health situation," he had to postpone a lot of the groundwork that he believes is important. He says that if he wanted to, he could probably still meet that December 13 release date, but we'll have to wait and he'll keep us updated. So basically, expect a delay.

Yesterday (Nov. 16), Hot97's Miss Info broke the news of Busta Rhymes and Mystikal signing to Cash Money Records. In celebration of the announcement Busta also premiered his new single, "Why Stop No," featuring Chris Brown.

Both MCs--who have spent time signed to major labels--plan to drop solo LPs in 2012. Busta's new album will be debuted exclusively through Google’s new venture, Google Music. E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event) 2: End Of The World will mark the rapper's 9th solo project.

Mystikal's last album, Tarantula, dropped in 2001. He was released from prison in January of 2010 after serving 6 years for sexual battery and extortion.

Within his feature, Weezy outlines his case against aspiring rappers trying to make it in the industry without a real legitimate reason.
"All I can say is make sure that you're not rhyming because you figured you could sound like Drake. Make sure those aren't the reasons that you're picking up a pad and pen," Wayne explained. "Make sure that you're doing it for a real reason. I did this when I was 8 years old. I started writing raps for a reason, and that reason was because I loved to make words rhyme. That was my reason for making music. So make sure you have a real reason that you want to rhyme. Don't make that reason be 'I'm tryna make it out the 'hood'' or 'I'm tryna feed my family,' because this sh*t ain't guaranteed to do none of those things. ... If you want to be where I'm at with it-I been in this 18 years. JAY-Z'S CONTROVERSIAL 'OCCUPY WALL STREET'-INSPIRED TEE BACK ON SALE DESPITE BACKLASH

Jay-Z made headlines last week, when his Rocawear clothing brand dropped a tee inspired by the "Occupy Wall Street" movement.

The tee, which reads "Occupy All Streets," was a play on the title of the movement protesting corporate financial institutes. On it, the "W" in "Wall" is scratched out in red, and an "S" is added to the word "Street" with the same red.

While the tee itself was a topic of the discussion -- because, according to a Rocawear rep, it was in support of the protest -- "Occupy Wall Street" did not share in the proceeds from sales of the tee.

This angered protestors, and garnered backlash from critics.

"Jay-Z, as talented as he is, has the political sensibility of a hood rat and is a s******," said Grim, described as one of the leaders of the Occupy movement by TMZ. "To attempt to profit off of the first important social moment of 50 years with an overpriced piece of cotton is an insult to the fight for economic civil rights known as #occupywallstreet."

Following the controversy, Rocawear pulled the tee ... but it was only temporarily.

The tee is now back on sale for $22. As of press time, the "Occupy All Streets" tee is on back-order, with orders set to ship a week after December 16th.

A label rep said, the tee isn't "Occupy Wall Street" but "Occupy All Streets", signifying "there is change to be made everywhere."

RAP LEGEND HEAVY D DIES AT AGE 44

Heavy D, leader of seminal hip-hop group Heavy D & the Boyz and the voice behind such key rise-of-a-genre tracks as “Now That We Found Love,” “Who’s the Man,” and “Somebody For Me,” as well as the iconic theme song to In Living Color, has passed away at the age of 44.

TMZ is reporting that the rapper was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles after being found unconscious, and passed away shortly after his arrival. No foul play is suspected, though his cause of death is currently unknown.

Heavy D was born Dwight Myers in Jamaica in 1967 but emigrated to Mount Vernon, New York with his parents as a young boy. After discovering rap music in junior high, he teamed up with backing crew the Boyz in high school.
Alongside his cohorts DJ Eddie F, Trouble T-Roy, and G-Wiz, he recorded a demo that found its way to the desk of Def Jam executive Andre Harrell, who alongside Russell Simmons had help launch the careers of LL Cool J, Beastie Boys, and Run-DMC. Harrell signed Heavy D & the Boyz to his newly-launched Uptown Records label, and he released the group’s debut album Living Large in 1987.

FORMER HEAVY WEIGHT CHAMP AND BOXING LEGEND JOE FRAZIER DEAD AT 67

Joe Frazier, a tough, underrated heavyweight boxer from Philadelphia and one of the sport’s fiercest competitors who spent a lifetime playing second fiddle to his nemesis, Muhammad Ali, died Monday night from liver cancer. Frazier was 67.

Frazier was diagnosed with cancer in late September, said his personal and business manager, Leslie Wolff. He had made several personal appearances since then.

Though there was lingering animosity between Frazier and Ali for more than 40 years, their names became synonymous with each other. Ali and Frazier. Frazier and Ali. It was almost as if you couldn’t say one without the other, said boxing historian Bert Randolph Sugar, who covered their amazing trilogy of fights in the 1970s.

Frazier, who was known as “Smokin’ Joe,” was the first fighter to defeat Ali, putting the loquacious “Louisville Lip” on the canvas with his signature vicious left hook during their first fight, the so-called “Fight of the Century” in Madison Square Garden on March 8, 1971, one of the most epic ring battles of all time. Frazier went on to win by unanimous decision.

Both fighters were paid an unheard of sum of $2.5 million, far more than any boxer had ever been paid for a prize fight.

Frazier and Ali came into the match undefeated. Ali had gotten under Frazier’s skin leading up to the fight, called him such names as “Uncle Tom,” “ugly,” “chump,” “ignorant” and “dumb.”

It was racial taunting at its worst, and it would affect Frazier for the rest of his life. Ali made it worse by continuing to taunt Frazier throughout their careers, calling Frazier a “gorilla” before their final fight in Manila.

In an interview with USA TODAY’s Erik Brady two years ago, Frazier’s bitterness came out in the form of religious bashing. Frazier believed Ali’s Parkinson’s Disease was God’s judgment for Ali’s Muslim beliefs.

“Regardless of who you are, you have to think one way, and the right way, to be accepted by the man above,” Frazier said. “He calls the shots.”

Asked if he could ever forgive Ali for gorilla, Uncle Tom, and the rest, Frazier said, “Sure . . . but the Man above, you’d better ask Him. . . . (Ali) must not pray. If you prayed, you’d have a better life than you have now. I’m 65 and I’m as strong as two bulls. So he must not bend down to the good Man above.”

Ali and Frazier would meet twice more after the “Fight of the Century,” and Ali won both, including the finale of their trilogy, the “Thrilla in Manila” on Oct. 1, 1975, one of the most brutal bouts in boxing history.

At one point during the slugfest, Ali whispered to Frazier during a clinch, “Ol’ Joe Frazier. They told me you were washed up.”

Frazier snorted back, “They lied, pretty boy.”

Both men could barely stand by the end of the fight, and Frazier couldn’t see, his eyes swelled shut.

By the end of the 14th round, Frazier had had enough. When he came back to his corner, his trainer, the legendary Eddie Futch, told him, “Sit down son. It’s all over. Nobody will ever forget what you did here today.”

Ali called that fight, fought in the extreme heat and humidity of The Philippines, “The closest thing to death.”

CONRAD MURRAY FOUND GUILTY IN MICHAEL JACKSON TRIAL

A two-year legal battle over who was responsible for Michael Jackson's sudden death came to a dramatic close Monday as a California jury found Dr. Conrad Murray guilty of involuntary manslaughter. Murray appeared to show no emotion as the verdict was read by court clerk Sammi Benson, but someone in the gallery let out a loud, but short scream. Sentencing was set for November 29, with Murray facing up to four years in prison on the conviction.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor ordered Murray to be held without bail until that date, and Murray was led from the courtroom in handcuffs. "This is not a crime involving a mistake of judgment. ... This was a crime where the end result was the death of a human being," Pastor said in explaining his decision to remand Murray to police custody. "That factor demonstrates rather dramatically that the public should be protected." Propofol's role in the Murray trial Conrad Murray remanded without bail Murray expected guilty verdict Conrad Murray denied bail Murray's medical license will be automatically suspended as a result of the conviction, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley.

The NBA's owners and players are back at the negotiating table today in an effort to end the league's four-month-old lockout, but according to some sources, the talks may be dead on arrival thanks to one very prominent owner: the Charlotte Bobcats' Michael Jordan.

Jordan is said to be leading a group of 10-14 hardline owners who think the NBA has already offered too much to the players, in effect pulling the previous offer of a 50-50 split of basketball related income. Reports say Jordan's group initially wanted to give the players 37% of BRI (under the expired collective bargaining agreement they received 57%).

Jordan and other hardliner owners are ready to kill off the NBA to prove a point say it aint so MIKE.

Young Jeezy, held a listening session a few nights ago for his fourth studio album, TM103: Hustlerz Ambition. The critics' reception was mostly positive, all the talk revolving around track 14, a record that brings Jeezy himself side-to-side with two of hip-hop's greats, Jay-Z & Andre 3000.

We have know learned that Jeezy may have omitted one track from the listening session, a song with him and Eminem.. Yes the snow man and Marshall have teamed up, and we can't wait to hear the results.

Jeezy has also confirmed appearances from Jadakiss, Fabolous, Ne-Yo, Snoop Dogg, Jill Scott, Plies, and Devin the Dude.

The album is slated for Release December 20th.

ROSE'MO THE DUDE THAT ALLEGEDLY KNOCKED OUT GAME GET'S MURDERED

RoseMo700, an affiliate of Waka Flocka's Brick Squad Monopoly, was gunned down in Los Angeles on Thursday (November 3) while on his way home.

According to the L.A.Times, The 26-year-old (real name: Jomo Adoula Zambia) was driving a red BMW in Inglewood around 2:30 pm, shortly after dropping his girlfriend off at work, when it was shot at. RoseMo was hit in the arm and torso, and continued driving, speeding through a red light and smashing into an unmarked police car.

Both he and the police officer -- who had to be extracted from his car with the jaws of life -- were rushed to a nearby hospital. RoseMo succumbed to his injuries later that day, while the officer was in stable condition Thursday.

Officials are investigating the shooting, and said they had no information surrounding the circumstances as of press time. Inglewood police are asking that anyone with information call the tip line at (888) 412-7463.

Back in mid-September, RoseMo made headlines across hip-hop blogs when he and Brick Squad recording artist Ice Burgandy detailed an alleged run-in with L.A. rap star The Game, which they claimed ended with Game being knocked out at a Los Angeles shopping mall. Then more recently, days before his tragic death, RoseMo surfaced on blogs again, in a clip where he is seen fighting local rapper Boskoe1 while his friend, CTE rapper 2Eleven, films and comments about it.

Both altercations stemmed from arguments that began on Twitter, involving RoseMo's childhood friend Ice Burgundy, an L.A. rapper affiliated with Waka's Brick Squad label.

Police told the Times that The Game is not a suspect in the case. "Our investigation is leading us in a different direction," Police Detective Gabriel De La Torre said.

BIG NAME COMEDIANS VYING TO PLAY ODB IN BIO PIC

A couple of big name comedians are vying for the role of 'Ol' Dirty B*stard in an upcoming film about his life.

RZA broke the news to XXL in a recent interview. According to the producer, who also happens to be ODB's cousin, both comedians have talked with him about the role.

"Eddie Griffin is down” he said. “Me and Eddie talked about it, laughed about it. Tracy Morgan, he wanna do it [too]. I said ‘Ya’ll both kinda can do it. Eddie spent time with Dirty. They knew each other well.”

The script is being written by another cousin of the late rapper, Raeshawn.

"He’s been working on it for two years now,” RZA said of Raeshawn. “[In fact] I think Eddie’s already signed on with a letter of Intent—I signed on, of course. So you know [Raeshawn] got my blessin’ to make it happen.”

ODD FUTURE’S LEFT BRAIN ACCUSED OF SLAPPING FEMALE PHOTOGRAPHER

Odd future member Left Brain may be in hot water, as reports are claiming the collectives member assaulted a photographer Sunday October 30th at a New Orleans concert.

The local media channel said member Left Brain became physical, slinging water at photogs, and even pushed and kicked cameras while shouting obscenities.

Photographer Amy Harris claims she was allegedly slapped by Left Brain, as a result of his wild behavior.

“I have worked many shows before, and I’ve had to deal with a band flinging water at the photographers, but I never expected this to happen,” Harris told NBC33. “In the pit, the male to female ratio is about 20 to [one]. There were way more men in that pit than women.”

Frontman Tyler, supported by his group members, shared his disdain for photographers while standing before the crowd, saying that the media pit set up in front of the stage was unfair for fans who had paid to see OFWGKTA perform.

n a statement to PitchforkMedia.com, Odd Future’s publicist said the allegations were simpy not true.

“There simply is no truth to the accusation floating around the internet,” said the group’s rep. “It’s no secret that Odd Future has a love/hate relationship with photographers at shows, simply because sometimes they are given access the group wishes their fans would have instead. After telling the photographers to clear out multiple times (as they’ve done before), Vyron (Leftbrain) took a swipe at a few cameras, NOT people. To manipulate the situation to insinuate an attack on a woman specifically is careless and manipulative.”

A rep for the music festival released a statement on Monday (October 31), saying they, in no way, condone of OFWGKTA.

“The Voodoo Experience does not, in any way, condone the behavior of Odd Future towards the approved media assembled in the photo pit during the band’s set yesterday (Sunday, October 30). Festival organizers would like to apologize to their media guests who experienced and/or witnessed this abusive behavior.”

Harries told NBC33 that she doesn’t plan to press charges.

50-Cent Say's He Aint Sold On Lil Wayne's Album Sales..

To be honest with you, the Lil Wayne sales are a little suspect to me. Because it was trending 600,000 pieces that week. And they didn’t do a million copies, it was like 900,000," he told Global Grind in a recent interview.

50 at least gave Wayne some props for Tha Carter III, which sales he believes make far more sense because to him it was a better quality album.

"Tha Carter III commanded that energy, but the last one that just came out, those numbers are funny."

Tha Carter III (June 2008) sold over 1 million copies it's first week, even after tracks leaked online. Tha Carter IV, which was released in August, sold 964,000 copies it's first week according to Billboard.com. It also broke the U.S. iTunes Store's single-week album sales record.

In Pusha T's "Don't Fuck With Me," many people believed Pusha was taking some indirect shots at Drake. The line about sweaters made it especially suspicious, considering we all know that Drizzy's got a thing for sweaters. Despite all that, Pusha insists that he wasn't talking about Drake. He cleared things up in a recent interview with HipHopDX.

"Naw, I never referenced Drake. I never referenced anybody in particular on that track. Never. That’s not what happened. People have turned it into the "Drake Diss." People have taken apart the verses and started to put the lines with rappers they think are targets or whatever, and that wasn’t the case. Like, that’s not what this is at all. So I just sit back and I watch it. But it ain’t nothing to me, man."

When asked about the sweaters line, Pusha explained:

"And that’s crazy because the last time I seen Drake he was at the Billboard Awards and wearing some type of high fashion suit. I don’t really know Drake’s dress code like that, man."
Despite Pusha insisting that he's not referencing anyone in particular, Nah Right pointed out that local VA rapper Ambassador Rick took offense to the Pusha song and even went so far as to record a song in response.

DANCE HALL SUPERSTAR VYBZ KARTEL CHARGED WITH ANOTHER MURDER

DETECTIVES from the Constant Spring Criminal Investigation Branch have charged two persons for the murder of Clive Williams o/c ‘Lizard’ who was murdered on August 16, 2011 in Havendale, St Andrew.The persons charged are Adijah Palmer o/c ‘Vybz Kartel’ and Kiro Jones o/c ‘Ray Jones’. Palmer and Jones were charged this evening. Arrangements are being made to have Palmer and Jones brought before the courts shortly.

Kartel is already in jail on murder, conspiracy to murder, and illegal possession of a firearm charges.He is scheduled to return to court on October 26 on those charges, which are in connection with the July 12 murder of Barrington 'Bossie' Burton, a 27-year-old businessman/promoter of a Gregory Park address in St Catherine. Burton was reportedly killed while standing with friends along Walker's Avenue in Gregory Park.
Kartel, who was arrested on September 30 at a hotel in New Kingston by police from the Flying Squad, is also charged for 4.3 ounces of ganja found at the premises. However, he pleaded not guilty to possession of ganja and is expected to return to court on November 10 on those charges.

Louisiana rapper Webbie was recently banned from BET's show 106 & Park. details as to why he was banned has finally surfaced. Insiders are saying Webbie reeked of marijuana and whispered some really offensive remarks into the ear or Rosi.

Due to his outrageous actions, Terrance made the announcement that the rapper was banned.

Webbie has responded. In a video clip (below), released to WorldStarHipHop, the rapper explained his side of the story, and even sent a threat Terrance J's way.

"I am BET. I told ol' girl that she wanted this d***. You seen the pics. She wanted it," the rapper declares in the video. "So Terrence, I'm sorry your bitch (Rocsi) wanted me to put that d*** on her. Get your hoe, man. Get your f***ing hoe man. Get your hoe man."

"I'm slapping the f*** outta Terrance when I see him, straight up," Webbie concluded before hopping into a vehicle and driving off.

SHYNE DROPPED FROM DEF JAM?

We have pondered this and I',m sure we are not the only ones as all has been real quite on the SHYNE front ??

When Shyne was released from prison in 2009, there was a lot of buzz about where he'd pick up regarding his music career. After being deported to his native country of Belize, the rapper finally inked a deal with Def Jam the following year, for a reportedly seven-figure payday after an intense bidding war. However, while releasing singles and preparing the release of his Gangland album, release dates have come and gone. Over the past several months, talk about the album has stopped.

What happened? In a recent interview with HipHopDX, producer Ken Lewis -- who worked with the rapper on his Godfather Buried Alive album -- revealed that Shyne has been dropped from the label. He explains that while working on Shyne's comeback album, things stopped abruptly and he hasn't heard from him since. "I mixed 18 songs for the upcoming album and produced two, but he got dropped from Def Jam [Records], and I haven't heard from him since," Lewis says.

"That may not be common knowledge. (laughs) That might get me in trouble. His release date was splattered as May 17 all over the world, but the day came and went, and I never heard from Shyne again. I don't really know what happened to him, I just know that as far as I'm concerned, I'm not a part of that record anymore." Earlier this year, Shyne dropped a new single, titled "King David," a bouncy club track that got attention for its release, but didn't go very far. He also revealed that he was planning collaborations with Gucci Mane and Lil Wayne. However, as of press time, Shyne's current situation was unknown.

SOULJA BOY ARRESTED FOR DRUG AND GUN POSSESSION

Soulja Boy found himself in some hot water earlier this morning. TMZ reports the 21-year-old rapper was pulled over while traveling in a car with 4 other men. Police arrested Soulja after finding a substantial amount of marijuana, over $70,000 in cash (according to sources) and guns. Police Department officers in Temple, GA made the arrest at 3:15 AM. It's unclear if any of the men currently hold permits for the weapons and it's not known at this time if any were charged with illegal possession of a firearm. All four men were arrested in the stop. SB is currently being held at the Carrol County Jail. Stay tuned for more on this developing story.

Updated: 9:05 AM: Law enforcement tells TMZ, all 5 men were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The out is also told the Escalade Soulja was riding in was part of a car service -- and the driver was one of the five men arrested.

After suffering from a seizure earlier in the day friday, which resulted in a hospital visit, the rapper boarded a plane to finally head to Memphis ... and suffered a seizure yet again.

According to TMZ, Rozay was en route to Memphis for a scheduled concert this evening at around 5 PM EST, but his private plane had to make an emergency landing in Birmingham, Alabama because the rapper suffered another seizure while in the air.

Upon landing, he was rushed to a hospital emergency room, where he's currently in stable condition.

His performance has been canceled and co-headliner Yo Gotti will now perform solo.

Lil Wayne has been sharing his thoughts a lot lately. First he posted a video over the weekend defending his right to skateboard and make rock music and just yesterday he hopped on Twitter to respond to comments made by Uncle Luke, the former leader of 2 Live Crew. "This Nigga Luke trippin," he wrote. "I ain't feelin khaled rite now neither (sic)," he added referring to his Cash Money labelmate. Those comments by Weezy came after learning that 2 Live Crew founder demanded rappers who are not MIA natives but now live there, to give back to the neighborhood.

"I've got a message for Lil Wayne, his Cash Money Brothers, DJ Khaled, Puff Daddy and all the rappers from other parts of the country who now live in Miami." Luke wrote in a blog for the Miami New Times. "I'm tired of seeing these cats using up our beaches, soaking up our sunshine, taking over the nightclubs, and sleeping with our women without investing anything into the community." After Hurricane Katrina hit his hometown New Orleans, Wayne moved to Miami, and that might change according to Luke's ultimatum.

"I'm giving them a deadline," Luke continued. "They got until January 1. If I don't see them giving back to the Magic City, I'm gonna have their Miami cards revoked. They won't be getting into any more nightclubs. They won't be able to go near our women. And Lil Wayne is gonna have to find floor seats for New Orleans Hornets home games because he won't be allowed inside the Triple A," warned Luke. It seems that Wayne was upset that Khaled invited Luke to speak on the issue on his local 305 radio station 99 JAMZ.

DMX made a rare appearance on live TV appearance on "106 & Park" on Tuesday afternoon (October 11), alongside longtime collaborator Swizz Beatz, both of whom spoke about their reunion, as well as premiering the rapper's music video for "Last Hope." It's been a minute since X has really returned to music -- his last album being Year of the Dog... Again in 2006. After that last album, the rapper went through his well-documented problems with drugs and legal troubles, which landed him in and out of jail several times. But, he's finally back.

The first question he was asked at "106 & Park" was if he regretted anything that's happen over this long hip-hop career. Surprisingly, he says he's not looking back. "I wouldn't change one thing," DMX told hosts, Rocsi and Terrence. "That made me the man I am today and I love the way I am." As far as how music has changed since he was actually "in" the game, and today's crop of new stars, he responded, "I really don't think about other rappers, no disrespect. I'd rather focus on what I am seeing, the message I need to get across."

Ok look's like Drake fans will be waiting a little longer for the release of the young moneys rapper sophomore album. Drake himself gets into detail as to what brought about the delay...

"The new date for Take Care is November 15th, 2011. I managed to create this album in my hometown of Toronto and the thoughts and stories I wanted to get across just became so clear. It truly felt like when I was here 3 years ago making So Far Gone. So I have completed 19 songs (17 on physical and 2 on bonus), and have run into a roadblock of clearing 3 samples in time to make the October 24th date. My options were to take the songs off and make the birthday release happen, or to take an extra couple weeks to get the paper work right and give you the album they way I NEED you to hear it. The choice was clear as day for me. November 15th you will get Take Care the exact way I created it with no trimmings. This music means too much to me to get attached to dates and I do apologize for the delay but I promise that it is only for the benefit of our experience together. Club Paradise Tour will also be moved to when students are back from the Christmas/New Year break so that I can get to more schools. New dates will be released in the next week…see you all soon."

RCA RECORDS CLOSES JIVE, ARISTA AND J RECORDS

Three of RCA Records's imprints kicked the bucket today in a move to revamp the label's image.

Musicians aren't the only members of the entertainment industry that are feeling the effects of the dwindling economy. Now, the Hollywood Reporter indicates that RCA Records has closed the doors on three of its leading subsidiary labels Jive, Arista and J.

RCA Records CEO Peter Edge recently confirmed the dissolution of the three labels earlier today. Edge says that the decision came about after RCA's digital music sales experienced a major growth over the past weeks. He says that now, he's looking to expand RCA's scope of business and revamp its image by cutting ties with its less profitable imprints Jive, Arista and J.

"What we're witnessing - finally, maybe - is the digital turnaround that's long been discussed, where people feel comfortable buying music and building their collections digitally," he explained. "The path we've taken is to refresh RCA, so we're going to retire those brands. There may be a reason down the line to bring them back, but it's a clean slate here...[t]he concept is that there is value in branding RCA and not having it confused or diluted by other labels. RCA is big now. We've doubled our market share, and we're competing with the top label groups in the industry. I was at J when it started, Jive's a wonderful moniker, and Arista speaks for itself. They're all great, historic labels. But our goal is to refresh and rebrand RCA. And the artists have all been supportive. We didn't make this move without consulting our artists, and we haven't had any push-back. Frankly, they're the brand. We're defined by our artists."

He added, "We've learned to work with less and hopefully accomplish the same or more. But by definition, the business has shrunk - the staffing has shrunk, our rosters are smaller. But we're still profitable. Like any other business, you have to make money. But we're an efficient machine."

As of now, all the artists signed to the three labels have signed to RCA. In the 1990's, Jive was home to some Hip Hop's most revered acts, including A Tribe Called Quest, KRS-One, E-40 and more.

TLC MEMBER T-BOZ OPENS UP ABOUT BATTLE WITH BRAIN TUMOR, LIFE EXPECTANCY

Tionne Watkins, known to the world as T-Boz from the multi-platinum selling R&B group TLC, had many battles to fight outside of music. The entertainer was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia early in life, an incurable blood disorder that leaves people exhausted and in constant pain. Due to her chronic illness, doctors told her she wouldn’t live past 30-years-old.

"Doctors, they didn't give me a happy ending," T-Boz told CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta. "You won't live past 30, you'll be disabled your whole life. You'll never have kids. I was looking around the room like, 'I don't know who he's talking to cause that's not my story.'"

T-Boz didn’t let the news of a possible life shortcoming thwart her from garnering success with friends Rozanda ‘Chilli’ Thomas and the late Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes. She found strength in her surroundings, especially from her mother.

"I think it had to do a lot with my mother, too, because she never made me feel different," she says of her faith in life.

Following TLC’s chart topping success, T-Boz went on to fight an even tougher battle after being diagnosed with a brain tumor.

"I started having headaches, but they were so frequent, something was wrong,” She says. “My doctor called, but his voice sounded funny. And I said, 'You're gonna say something like I have a brain tumor, right?' He got quiet."

T-Boz was able to find a doctor to remove the tumor but now must deal with the side effect of poor balance.

“I go for it,” she says about taking on life’s challenges adding, “cause I believe words are powerful and I think everything…every last thing in life happens for a reason.”

The good news is T-Boz is back in the studio working on a solo album, which will revolve around the tribulations of life.

Because no matter what folks may think, Rihanna says that all her vamping — which apparently got so hot and heavy in her upcoming "We Found Love" video that it angered a farmer who owned the land the clip was being shot on — is just an act she puts on for her fans. "That's not me.

That's a part I play. You know, like it's a piece of art, with all these toys and textures to play with," she tells the magazine. "See, people ... they want me to be a role model just because of the life I lead. The things I say in my songs, they expect it of me, and [being a role model] became more of my job than I wanted it to be. But no, I just want to make music. That's it."

Rihanna added that, despite a past that included a father who reportedly struggled with substance abuse and an assault at the hands of then-boyfriend Chris Brown, she feels stronger now than ever and doesn't feel that her experiences make her any different from the millions of others who have dealt with broken homes and domestic abuse. DANCEHALL STAR VYBZ KARTEL CHARGED WITH MURDER

According to reports

Dancehall star Vybz Kartel was been changed with murder on Monday. A police statement released in Kingston, Jamaica implies Vybz, whose real name is Adidjah Palmer, has been charged with murder, conspiracy to murder and illegal possessions of firearm.

The allegation is that on Monday, July 11, 2011, Palmer, along with other men, conspired to murder Barrington Burton o/c ‘Bossie’, a 27 year old businessman/promoter of a Gregory Park address in St. Catherine. Burton was murdered while he was standing with friends along Walker Avenue in Gregory Park.” The police released in the statement. Today a preliminary hearing will be held.

Vybz was originally arrested on Friday for marijuana possession. However this isn’t the first time the “Yuh Love” has been arrested. He was previously arrested on charges of assault and illegal gun possession. Those charges were later dropped. Kartel crossed over to America with singles “Ramping Shop”, Dollar Sign” and “Clarks” and has collaborated with Rihanna, Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams. T.I RELEASED FROM ATLANTA HALF WAY HOUSE

T.I. was released Thursday from Atlanta’s Dismas Charities halfway house according to his lawyer Steve Sadow. The rapper finish spending two weeks in the facility after spending a year in federal custody. Will we possibly see TIP at this weekend’s BET Hip-Hop Awards in his hometown of Atlanta? Only time will tell. Until then, T.I. plans to celebrate this Friday night with a big welcome home party, followed by a $100,000 brunch with 150 close friends and associates co-hosted by NBA All-Star Amar’e Stoudemire on Sunday. Lil Wayne certified himself as the reigning king of hip-hop with the release of his latest opus, Tha Carter IV, which is nearing 1.4 million as of press time.

In celebration of his status as one of the biggest, if not the biggest in hip-hop, the rapper has been revealed as the cover artist for Vibe's upcoming October/November issue.

"For VIBE's October/November issue we wanted to explore the heart of an artist and the mind of the man who knows how to do nothing but defend and protect his craftsmanship," said Vibe. "With 20 years in the game, 365 days spent in jail, and millions sold off the shelf, Weezy F. Baby is still winning."

In the upcoming coverstory, Weezy talks about everything from how he views himself, his peers and even Young Money first lady, Nicki Minaj.

WAYNE ON JAY-Z AND "THE OLD GUYS"

"There's no competition [with any artists]. Music isn't about competition no more. All the gangster rappers are happy, all the skateboard rappers are happy, all the white rappers are happy... Everybody just happy to do music these days. There are no problems. That shit died a long time ago with them old-ass rappers. We are just making music, making money and having fun feeding our families. Competition is for the old guys."

VIBE: You say competition is for the "old guys," but it sounds like you're going at Jay-Z with that line, "I got your baby money/Kidnap your bitch, get that how-much-you-love-your-lady money." Are we looking at it the wrong way?

LIL WAYNE: I know for a fact, music is about perception. You can't do anything but perceive what you hear. If I know that for a fact, I can never be upset about someone's reaction to it. I'm not gonna say I don't know what will happen before I say it [on record]. I do know what will happen. I am aware of it. It is what it is.

VIBE: So you knew the repercussions of going after Jay before anything even happened?

LIL WAYNE: Well, I'm a man. I believe as a man you should know that. Every man should know the repercussions and consequences behind whatever they do before they do it. And of course, I know there won't be any repercussions behind what I did.

WAYNE ON LOOKING AT DRAKE AS COMPETITION:

VIBE: You mentioned how humbled you were at the success of "She Will." Drake, who wrote and performs the song's chorus, has now become a platinum star in his own right. Do you look at the guy and say, "Wow, I helped create a monster, I have to stay on my toes"?

LIL WAYNE: I don't look at it like that. Drake is my artist. If he wasn't my artist, then yeah maybe. But that's my artist. He's not [just] a friend. We're more than friends. It's business. It would be impossible for it to be a competition. I mean, I'm the guy's boss.

HIP-HOP PIONEER SYLVIA ROBINSON DIES OF CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE

It is a sad moment in Hip-Hop history indeed as one of the most influential female founders passed away. Wane Enterprises would like to say Rest In Peace to Sylvia Robinson, and send condolences to her family.. Read more below.

Sylvia Robinson, who was considered as the "mother of Hip-Hop", has passed away. Publicist Greg Walker told the Associated Press that the woman behind seminal rap group Sugarhill Gang died of congestive heart failure at the New Jersey Institute of Neuroscience in Seacaucus, New Jersey on Thursday, September 29.

The singer, whose biggest hit as a solo artist was perhaps her 1973 single "Pillow Talk", was 76. She is survived by three sons, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. According to CNN, her funeral is scheduled for October 11 at Community Baptist Church in Englewood, New Jersey.

Sylvia's grandson and MTV personality Darnell Robinson shared about the loss on Twitter. "RIP to my grandmother. We lost Mommy Sylvia this morning but she will never be forgotten! We all love you Mommy," he first tweeted. Hours later, he wrote, "Making a dedication song with my sister @TheLeaRobinson to my grandmother Sylvia Robinson. 'Grandson and Granddaughter of Hip- Hop' "

Female rap icon MC Lyte, in the meantime, remembered Sylvia as "a huge inspiration". She told Billboard.biz, "Here was a woman who had launched her own label and was calling the shots! She literally changed the way many looked at the game and certainly created a path for many women to become a part of the music business in executive positions."

Born Sylvia Vanderpool, the singer-songwriter first found success as one-half of the duo Mickey & Sylvia with hit song "Love Is Strange". She married Joe Robinson in 1964, and the two formed All Platinum Records in 1968 and co-founded Sugar Hill Records in 1979. She helped to formthe Sugarhill Gang, whose song "Rappers Delight" became the first commercially successful rap recording.

Would like to congratulate Eric B. & Rakim. They have been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Rakim is revered in the hip-hop community for his complex rhymes and delivery. He and dj Eric B. enjoyed huge success in the late 80's and early 90's with hits like "Eric B Is President," "I Aint No Joke," "Juice (Know the Ledge)" and "Microphone Fiend." They recorded four albums together before Rakim went solo. This is the first nomination for the duo.
