Foods like fruits, vegetables, beans, and whole grains are absorbed into the blood stream slowly and do not require an aggressive insulin response as foods that are higher end of the glucofort index. As sugar levels swing high and low, the body blasts out adrenaline (epinephrine) and cortisol to balance blood sugar levels so the brain doesn't starve of glucose. Once we've convinced ourselves that it is possible to take control of our disease with the things that we normally can do alongside our medication, our body's resistance and strength will follow suit.
